第一次聽到You're beautiful這首歌時就覺得不錯聽，剛好昨天The X Factor 的Maria就是唱這首歌，所以就上網搜尋了一下，原來是James Blunt 的歌，不過我這個井底之蛙也才發現原來他現在正是英國當紅的歌手呢! 首張專輯Back to bedlam已經蟬聯英國金榜冠軍單曲五週，瀏覽了他的官方網頁發現他的歌都很好聽呢...明天要去買它的專輯來聽聽
在如此輝煌的音樂成績背後，低調的Blunt卻有著如小說人物般的傳奇色彩。
James blunt出生在軍人家庭，從英國布里斯托大學畢業，在老爸的逼迫下，他加入軍隊，一路晉升到上尉、擔任過英國女王親衛隊、也曾被派駐到德國科索沃目睹血腥內戰、並成為第一個被派遣到普利斯提納的英國軍官。在白天，詹姆士是帶領3萬和平部隊的軍官，但每到夜裡，他總會爬上坦克車，在寧靜的夜空下拿著吉他寫歌。
2002年，Blunt毅然放棄軍旅生涯，決定當個歌手，2003年9月，他遠赴洛杉磯，與Tom Rothrock [Beck、Elliott Smith、Badly Drawn Boy]、Linda Perry [Gwen Stefani]展開專輯的錄製，他白天錄歌，晚上就跑到酒吧，與別人分享自己的人生故事，後來，這些故事就成了一首首具有宿命色彩的歌，專輯裡的結束曲 "No Bravery" ，是他在99年在科索沃的軍營中，親眼目睹血淋淋的科索沃內戰後，在寂靜的午夜時分所寫下的歌，Blunt的歌聲就跟他的鋼琴指法一樣沉重，感慨的紀錄這歷史的傷痛，而紀錄著難以忘情、怦然心動的情感小品 "You're Beautiful" 則把愛情世界裡的偶然、巧合與失落表達得十分動人。 (http://www.warnermusic.com.tw/artists/morebio.php?id=875)
